Welcome to Cnocnafeille Cockers....

We are Clive and Elspeth Graham and we currently live near the market town of Chester-le-Street in County Durham not far from the Cathedral City of Durham.
We share our home with three pet dogs, currently two pedigree Working Bred Cocker Spaniels, shortly to be three, and one other who isn’t K.C. registered.

We have recently acquired a plot of land in South West Scotland where we are going to be building a new house to our own design. See “Our Plans” for up-to-date information and pictures of progress as time goes on. Our land faces south and has views over the Solway Firth to the Lakeland Fells where we spend as much of our free time as possible with our dogs.

We are fortunate to live near the beautiful Lumley Castle....

Clive does most of the exercising of the dogs as one of his favourite pastimes is walking for miles through the local countryside be it riverside, fells or by the sea especially if there is a suitable dog-friendly watering hole at the end!

We are lucky that we have an abundance of suitable areas to walk in right on our doorstep at home and, of course, the choice is never ending when we are at our holiday home in the Lakes.

When we move North of the Border we are both looking forward to having a whole new area to explore, as are our pets!

We were thrilled, in October 2009, to hear that our choice of Affix, Cnocnafeille, had been accepted by the Kennel Club. Cnocnafeille is Gaelic and is actually three words run together – Cnoc na feille. This is the name we have chosen for our new house which means “the hill by the market place” and it describes the situation of our new property perfectly.  It is pronounced “knock na fail”. By co-incidence, it also suits our current location too.

In the future, we plan to breed an occasional litter from our pedigree Cockers and, as we believe in responsible breeding, we have already had them health tested in preparation. You can find out more about them on “Our Dogs” page.  Also watch out for news of our new arrival in the New Year.
